I do not understand western medicine’s fascination with medication. It seems these days that everyone is searching for a pill that will be the answer to all of their ailments. Take this pill for that. Take that pill for this. Research which drug will cure this or aid with that. It simply goes on and on. We have become a medicated nation.
I am baffled by this when we see the consequences of drug addiction in our communities. We think our problems with addiction will be solved if only we can get a handle on the meth problem or the heroin problem or the marijuana problem. We can’t see that many of the medications that are being handed by our doctors and pharmacies can be just has destructive as so-called street drugs. What’s frightening to me is that we are trying to solve the drug addiction problem in our country by creating new drugs that these drug addicts can take to cure their drug addiction.
Does this faulty thinking make any sense? Are more drugs truly the only way to handle a drug addict’s drug problem? Why can’t we provide those suffering from addiction with a comprehensive drug free rehab program? Yes, I said it. Drug-free. This means skip the methadone clinic. Skip the Subaxone. Skip the anti-depressants. Skip the quick fix.
The cover story for the July 16, 2007 issue of Time Magazine delves into the nature of addiction and how “new brain research is helping us understand why we get hooked.” The researchers involved use addicts’ brains to “design new drugs that are showing promise in cutting off the craving that drives an addict irresistibly toward relapse.” Great! Right? If an addict just didn’t crave the drug, he would be fine.Partially, yes. But there is so much more to what causes an individual to get hooked on drugs. There are always underlying issues that the once sober individual is trying to escape. Giving an addict a drug to stop the craving only addresses a part of the problem. There must be drug free ways to reduce the cravings an addict experiences and provide a complete drug free rehab for the drug addict.
Holistic approaches to drug addiction have been developed and have been proven to work. One such program, the New Life Detoxification program offered at Narconon Vista Bay, truly addresses the cravings an addict experiences by cleansing the body of drug residues in a drug free setting, using vitamins and a sauna program at its base. The end result is that the cravings for drugs have disappeared. However, the program also addresses the underlying causes for the addiction in the first place. None of these wonder drugs for addiction deal with the root causes, which in all honesty, makes me question the motivation behind developing these types of drugs.
Who profits from these wonder drugs? Is it the drug addict who now has to support his new habit? What happens to this addict when he can’t afford to get his medication? Will he return to using the bad street drugs and find himself caught in the trap of addiction all over again? These drugs to cure addiction are new. That means long term side effects are unknown. What will they be? What side effects will the addict have to deal with?
We have already seen what happens to those on methadone. We know that Subaxone is classified as a narcotic. We have seen that Ritalin, a methamphetamine, causes serious problems for our children. And yet, we keep pushing this idea that medication is the answer to addiction. When will see that drug free rehab is truly the only solution to our drug addiction problems?

Unfortunately, most counselors, specialists, psychologists, and recovery groups still believe that addiction is not only a disease, but it is also incurable! Well, as an addiction recovery coach, I have proven both of those hypothetical presumptions to be dead wrong!

Â

Disease is defined as an affliction that can be pathologically diagnosed. To date, there is no such pathology to diagnose addiction because it is plainly a behavior and not a disease. Therefore, addiction is not a disease but rather a choice! But, before I reveal the direct fundamental issue that drives that choice, let’s examine the current traditional rehabilitation treatment options.

Â

Outpatient Therapy

Â

Outpatient therapy is usually conducted by holding weekly meetings with a counselor substance abuse therapist. Typically, the therapist employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or a 12-Step Program as the primary treatment modalities. However, in some cases a more intensive day treatment protocol is used, which more closely resembles residential treatment.

Â

Inpatient Therapy

Â

Inpatient therapy provides an intensive but brief residential treatment model based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or a 12-step program. This treatment model requires inpatient admission to a treatment center or hospital based facility for a specified period of time, which is usually 3 to 6 weeks. The inpatient treatment phase is generally followed by extended outpatient therapy and participation in a self-help group.

Â

Residential treatment programs

Â

Residential treatment provides care 24 hours per day, generally in a non-hospital setting. In many cases this type of treatment model utilizes the therapeutic community model but also may employ other protocols such as the cognitive behavioral therapy model. Therapeutic Communities are residential programs with planned lengths of stay of 6 to 12 months. The goal is to re-socialize the individual to a drug free lifestyle. Many of the programs offer some type of employment training service to assist the patient with their transition back in to society.

Â

In short, the majority of these programs employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or the Alcohol Anonymous 12-Step program. These treatment modalities not only fail in excess of ninety percent of the time, but in my opinion, they are also counterproductive and dangerous!

Â

First, let’s examine the nuts and bolts of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT) is based on the assumption that most emotional and behavioral reactions are learned. Therefore, from a (CBT) perspective addiction is learned behavior that evolves into a disease. The goal of (CBT) therapy is to help clients unlearn their problematic behavior (addiction) by learning new patterns of more appropriate behavior. CBT employs stoicism or passive approach that attempts to teach the client patience in the face of adversity by disconnecting from their emotional issues. In my opinion, this is not only ineffective, but it is also dangerous since it can exacerbate depression. This model is an exact contradiction to the components required to overcome addiction and flies in the face of common sense. But, before I reveal the two components required for addiction recovery lets examine the 12-step philosophy.

Â

The 12-Step Program originated in the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous. The principles of the program place a great deal of emphasis on spirituality, powerlessness, and the emergence of a person’s sense of soul. The goal of the program is a spiritual awakening although most find it difficult to accomplish because they feel victimized. Many of the steps are presented as being paradoxical, claiming that you are powerless, but like magic, you suddenly become more powerful by admitting that you possess shortcomings and defects of character. In my opinion, not only are many of the 12 steps counterproductive, but they have also contributed to the rise in antidepressant usage.

Â

In conclusion, the primary modalities of addiction treatment fail in excess of ninety percent of the time. I believe this to be directly attributed to their passive, stoic, self-incriminating, and powerlessness components. Addiction recovery requires liberation and empowerment. Therefore, (CBT) and the 12-step program is a blatant contrast to successful addiction recovery.

Â

Ok, now that you understand why traditional treatment fails in excess of ninety percent of the time, let’s talk about how to recover from addiction. First, let me say that depending on the severity of your drug addiction, you may or may not experience symptoms of withdrawal. If you’ve attempted abstinence in the past, you may have a firm understanding of the degree of withdrawal symptoms you will face in this subsequent process. If you are questioning the severity of the symptoms, it would be wise to seek medical assistance with this withdrawal prior to embarking on the recovery path.

Â

To begin the recovery process you must first uncover the root cause of your addiction. I believe that there is a common denominator or root cause of every addiction. Plain and simple, the root cause of addiction is the emotional scars caused by family dysfunction.

Â

Take a moment to examine the source of your emotional pain! Were you physically, verbally, or sexual abused as a child? Did your parents control or manipulate you? Did your parents put forth a part time effort towards a job that required full time parenting? Did your parents abuse alcohol or drugs? How have these negative patterns crushed your

Â

self-esteem? Are you angry at your self for failing to face these issues? Do you blame yourself for your self-destructive behavior and for losing your self-respect? Like most, you may not realize how much these family dysfunctions have destroyed your self-esteem or why they are the root cause of your addiction.

Â

There are two components to successful addiction recovery liberation and empowerment. Liberation is used to describe the process of liberating yourself from the binding emotional constraints of family dysfunction. Empowerment is used to describe the restoration of ones self-esteem. In essence, addiction is a self-esteem issue. So, can you begin to understand why the traditional methods of (CBT) and 12-Step Programs fail? How can you liberate yourself from your emotional baggage by passively disconnecting from it and sweeping it under the rug? Furthermore, how can you restore your self-respect and self-esteem by admitting you have shortcomings, defects of character, and that you’re powerless? You can’t! And, if you can’t the traditional treatment methods are equivalent to putting on a band-aid when you need surgery!

If you would like more information on how to beat your addiction os stop drinking without rehab, subscribe to my free-e guide below.

Best wishes,

David Roppo

The Addiction Freedom Coach

overcoming addiction

overcome addiction

how to stop drinking

Who do you really call a drug addict? In terms of Medical Science there is a defined way of looking at a drug addict.
First of all the person has to regularly take psychoactive drugs. This is the initial stage of becoming a drug user. Till now he is not an addict.
Next he has to reach to such an extent from where he cannot retreat. He will be automatically compelled to have those drugs very often and in a larger dose. Here he has become a drug addict.
Under normal situations and general guidelines a drug addict cannot be treated. The guy requires a specialized curing approach and a different shelter to come out of the clutches of the evil called narcotics.
Right refuge
The ultimate refuge for a drug patient is a rehabilitation center. If the patient is treated right at his initial stage it will be easier to direct him on the right path. A few counseling sessions with some medicinal aid might work in this case. But for the chronic patients who have been consuming a single or multiple forms of narcotics cannot be treated in such a simplified way.
A drug addict requires a residential setup in the rehab center where he/she can perform different types of works through proper guidance. This will be a simultaneous curing process along with medical support and conventional counseling techniques.
The rehab program can only then be considered appropriate when the specific needs of the individual are given priority. You must check whether any type of discrimination prevails in the treatment procedure or the overall environment of the rehab center.
Yes there are centers that make division looking at the needs of different patients getting admitted. Find them out and get clear before you admit someone.
Different dimensions of program
Drug rehab programs can be devised as per individual requirements quite categorically. There are specific drug rehab programs for elderly persons and for the adolescent dudes. The bisexuals, transsexuals, homosexuals, gays and other such categories can be an individual group. Treatment of each category will definitely have some aspects in common but the fine differences are segregated through this division. Got it?
Look a homosexual has a typical crisis in life that might not be exactly identical to that of a heterosexual. There are common areas but the difference has to be addressed as prior. The rehab program has to take these things in consideration.
Always note these fine but crucial factors quite critically when you opt for a drug rehabilitation program.

Deciding if you truly want to help a UK heroin addict, especially a loved one and family member, is the first challenge one faces. The internal conflict of indecision is the result of past failures and major hurdles one doesn’t know how to overcome. Is there still hope for someone facing heroin addiction and shattered lives in the UK?
UK Heroin Stats
According to “Statistics on Drug Misuse: England 2007″ published by the NHS, the highest use of Class A drugs (includes opiates such as heroin and methadone) for adults was reported in London higher than the average for England and Wales. Heroin rehab in the UK is available but how can you help your loved one overcome heroin addiction?
Decide To Give The Heroin Addict Or Alcoholic Some Hope, Enough To Make Them Want To Try To Get Better
I once had a family member addicted to heroin. She is still with us today and no longer a heroin addict. The day I decided to help, I knew that it was now or never, a whole new world was opened in front of me.
After the decision to help this person addicted to heroin, finding the right Heroin Rehab program was the next step for me and gave me the tools, information which I could use to talk to her. I learned that it is possible to help a friend or loved one but it takes a lot of courage and gumption. You really have to want to do it. You have to want to do it enough to give them the courage and hope that they lost a long time ago.
Deciding To Help A Heroin Addict vs Waiting For “Rock Bottom”
Well, apparently some believe that “rock bottom” is the magical time when the addict or alcoholic will decide that it is time to finally do something about their problem and stop the misuse of drugs or alcohol. In my own experience, the family kept waiting for her to hit “rock bottom” but although there were many such times, in our view; like loosing the kids, lethal doses of drugs within reach of children, theft, stealing from family, several near deaths, car accidents, various emergency hospital visits… shall I go on? To me, these are “rock bottoms”. To the addict, this is not necessarily so, but just another day in their chaotic life and simply barriers to their next fix. More on this later.
Heroin Effects: How Strong Is The Urge To Keep Using Heroin?
There are many hard truths about heroin use. Heroin is usually injected, snorted or smoked. The immediate effects of heroin include a surge of sensation – a “rush”. This is often accompanied by a warm feeling of the skin and a dry mouth. Sometimes, the initial reaction can include vomiting or severe itching. After these effects fade, the user becomes drowsy for several hours. The basic body functions such as breathing and heartbeat slow down. Short-term effects also include clouded mental functioning, hypothermia and coma or death (due to overdose). Within hours after the drug effects have reduced, the addict’s body begins to crave more. If he does not get another fix, he will begin to experience withdrawal.
Heroin withdrawal includes the extreme physical and mental symptoms which are experienced if the body is not supplied again with next dose of heroin.
Heroin withdrawal symptoms include: restlessness, aches and pains in the bones, diarrhea, vomiting and severe discomfort. The intense high the user seeks lasts only a few minutes. With continued use, he needs increasing amounts of the drug just to feel “normal”.
Your Conviction To Help Has To Be Greater Than Their Heroin Urges
Heroin addiction can result after even after a single dose.
To the heroin addict in the UK and around the world, the absolute physical need to keep using is above all else. Even when the person thinks about getting clean, the physical withdrawal which comes after each use and before the next is enough to keep them addicted and caring about nothing else in their lives.
Even their “loved ones” become painful memories to be put behind them with the next fix. When you cannot get out of bed because of the pain, can’t stay in bed because of the pain, can’t sleep, and can’t eat, what then? When life is just pain, it is no wonder that there is nothing more important than the next fix and some “relief”.
It is true that an addict still has love of family/friends but the drug has become the first love and all hope is lost in them. This is why we must hope for them and we can help them to break free from the shackles of their addiction.
Intervention And “Rock Bottom” — It’s Your Decision To Make, Not Theirs
It is important not to wait for this fabled “rock bottom”. The final end could be with the next fix. The heroin addict has no guarantees that he or she will only get a high; it could be an extended coma resulting in paralysis or simply, death. Intervention is key to helping someone recover from addiction. When I did the intervention on my family member and she needed one more fix before allowing me to take her to the private residential rehab, I so feared that although it was the last time, it could be the time that would kill her.
The time to intervene is now. Do your homework. There is lots of information and tips on how to go about doing this and professional interventionists can also help. Although we may see the life of the addict falling apart and each facet of their lives slowly crumbling in front of them, they most often do not. Even if they see the truth, they often feel powerless to change it.
UK addicts won’t get clean without someone to help them. If you expect an addict to take responsibility for their lives while hooked on heroin, you’re under a similar delusion that they suffer from: that ending heroin addiction in the UK is someone else’s problem. It is infact, a problem for all of us.
The first question is, “Will you decide to help a heroin addict get to rehab in the UK?”

Drugs can damage the development of a baby, and can cause complications during pregnancy. Certain drugs can cause nutritional deficiencies, anemia, and fetal growth retardation. The use of drugs while pregnant can also increase the chance of developing toxemia or pre-eclampsia. Marijuana use during pregnancy can cause attention deficit, memory problems and impaired decision making skills. These problems usually don’t appear until age 3. The use of amphetamines is associated with an increase in cardiovascular defects in babies. Barbiturate use during pregnancy may be linked to birth defects, withdrawals, poor feeding, and seizures. Opiods are associated with abnormalities and complications during pregnancy. There is a high risk for premature labor, intrauterine growth retardation and pre-eclampsia, in women who use opiods while pregnant. Cocaine use by the mother-to-be can increase the risk of miscarriage. Babies born to mothers who used cocaine during pregnancy can have lower IQ scores and mental deficiencies. Sudden infant death syndrome is more common in babies born to mothers who used cocaine. The use of PCP during pregnancy is believed to cause abnormal development in babies. It can cause the mother to have mental illness and loose contact with reality.

If you smoke cigarettes, and are pregnant or plan to be pregnant you should definitely consider stopping the habit. When you inhale tobacco smoke you are inhaling substances that are harmful to you and your growing baby. These substances include nicotine, carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, tars, resins and other cancer causing agents. These harmful chemicals are passed through the placenta to the baby when inhaled by the mother to be.

Smoking has a number of harmful effects on babies such as, a low birth weight, lower IQ scores, reading disorders, and hyperactivity. Smoking has also been known to interfere with the baby’s absorption of vitamins B and C and folic acid, which are all important to the growth and development of the baby. There is a risk of developing placental abruption during pregnancy that increases to 25% in women who are moderate smokers, and 65% in women who smoke heavily. Smoking during pregnancy also increases the risk of miscarriage, death of the baby while still in the mother, or shortly after birth. The risk of placenta previa is 25% more likely to happen in women who smoke moderately, and 90% more likely in women who smoke heavily.

Drinking alcohol while pregnant is also not a good idea. There are very serious risks involved with drinking alcohol and being pregnant. Even a little amount of alcohol can increase the risk of having a miscarriage. Large amounts of alcohol can result in abnormalities of the baby. Chronic alcohol use can lead to fetal alcohol syndrome, FAS, which is when the fetus develops abnormally.

Fetal alcohol syndrome refers to growth retardation before and after the child’s birth. This can mean heart and limb defects and unusual facial characteristics. Children born with FAS can also have behavioral problems, impaired speech, and impaired muscle and joint use.

Abnormalities in babies have been associated with as little as two drinks a day. It is best to avoid alcohol altogether, so that you do not put your baby at risk of having fetal alcohol syndrome. Some over the counter cold medicines contain alcohol, so make sure to read labels before use of all medications.

Not only does the mother need to avoid alcohol, but it is also a good idea for the father to not drink also. Research suggests that large amounts of alcohol consumed by the father may cause the baby to be born with FAS. Alcohol consumption by the father has also been known to cause intrauterine growth retardation.

Not only can illegal drugs have harmful effects on babies, but legal drugs and medications can have harmful effects on babies also. You should stop all use of medications until you discuss the medicines with your doctor to find out if they are safe to use while pregnant. The best way to prevent any of these harmful effects on your baby is to stop all drug use before and during pregnancy. The next time you consider getting “high”, having a drink, or lighting up, think of how it would feel if your baby is born with abnormalities, and you single handedly could have prevented these hardships for your baby.

Scientology affiliated Narconon drug and alcohol rehabs offer “alternative” treatment for people struggling with any type of chemical dependency.

Narconon rehab programs boast a 75% – 85% success rates, and success is defined a s sobriety for life. When patients finish a Narconon drug or alcohol rehab, they are said to be cured, and have no need for any continuing participation in aftercare or other therapies that so often endeavor to help recovering addicts maintain sobriety.

Narconon offers fairly inexpensive treatment, and some facilities will offer 3 to 6 months of drug and alcohol rehabilitation for as little as $10 000 and even the more expensive Narconon rehabs will unlikely charge more than $ 30 000 for the same duration, which when compared to the treatment costs of competitive and conventional private rehabs, is quite a bargain.

But there are a number of serious issues with the Narconon methodology of care, and so grave are these reservations that even very low cost treatment may be overpriced.Problems with Narconon

1) They operate all therapies and care based on science that has since been proven wrong, yet they do not change their methods.

All therapy is based on the philosophies and work of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, and although he was a man of very limited Scientific understanding and background, his work is Scientology Gospel, and remains the internally unchallenged work on which Narconon programs are based.2) They won’t give you needed medications.

Narconon faithful advocate a complete break from drugs of all kind ( the dangers of narconon ) . The mentality Is that since drugs have created the addiction and the accompanying problems, the use of more drugs in treatment only worsens the ultimate problems.

While seemingly rational, this philosophy actually makes little sense, and there are certain drugs very unrelated to drugs of abuse. Their no drug policy actually endangers people in withdrawal from certain drugs, and needing medications for safety.3) They operate as a recruitment ground for Scientology.

There have been numerous and persistent complaints from Narconon graduates of the indoctrination efforts of Narconon staff upon participants in drug and alcohol rehabs. People at their most vulnerable, while recovering from addiction, are targeted as the next converts to swell the ranks of the Church of Scientology.Ask your doctor what he or she thinks of Narconon

No reputable medical organization endorses the Narconon program of treatment, and some in fact (the AMA) condemn it as unsafe. If you need drug or alcohol treatment, you deserve access to a drug or alcohol rehab that offers you a legitimate chance at sobriety, and one that uses proven and scientific therapies in your care.

Don’t take a chance with your recovery and even with your life by entrusting your care to any Narconon affiliated organization. Do your homework, ask a trusted doctor, ask around, learn the truth about Narconon, and find a real drug treatment program.

There is no denying the fact that joining a rehab center is a problem especially when it comes to the elimination of addiction to alcohol and drugs from the very bottom or the roots. If you too are battling a war with drug addiction, it is quite likely that you might be in search for a rehab center known for its high success rate. One of the most important criterion that people often look for before joining a drug rehab is the cost that enrolling in for the same entails.

Well, if you feel that joining a drug rehab centre might not fit the bill for you, you need not worry as there are many centers that can come to your aid. Read on to know more about the same.

Talking about cost effective drug treatment centers, the first name that comes to one’s mind is joining a drug rehab center operating on the principle of non-profit. Put in simple words these are the treatment centers as run by several religious organizations and the government with the sole aim of making society free from any vice of drug addiction. Its primary motive is not to earn profit, but to ensure that more and more addicts are freed from the clutches of drug and substance abuse at the earliest.

It is suggested to opt for those rehab centers that are covered under the insurance policy. Most of the rehab centers offer an inpatient treatment which requires the patient to stay in the drug rehab till the time the person is completely weaned away from addiction. Check with your insurance provider if the expenses are covered under the insurance policy or not. Opt for the drug rehabs where you can easily make use of your insurance policy and get a reimbursement of the expenses borne on your part. This can go a long way in saving a lot of your money.

If you can’t get to find any drug rehab center, which is covered under your insurance policy, do not lose heart. You always have the option of joining an outpatient treatment of the rehab centre as well. Unlike an inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment does not require you to stay in the rehab for days at a stretch. All you need to do is to go to the rehab as per your scheduled appointment for counseling, drug detox session and other therapies involved in the process. This saves a lot of your boarding and lodging charges that the inpatients are required to shell out. Availing outpatient treatment prevents your pocket from becoming lighter, all the while ensuring that you do not remain deprived of quality services and treatments.

So, going by the abovementioned information it is amply clear that you need not have all the money in the world to enroll in for a quality and renowned rehab center. Simply make use of the given tips and you can easily throw drug addiction out of your life and that too without burning a hole in your pocket.

Though rehabilitation is used as a single term most of the time, it has several subtypes classified on various bases. If you take a look at the program for drug rehab in New Hampshire, you will quite easily understand this categorization. You will find that the drug rehab programs in the state are classified in various ways to provide the most authentic kind of treatment to their patients. So what are these different types of drug rehab that prevail in New Hampshire? Read on to understand.
Rehab Programs based on Type of Addiction
The first classification of drug rehab in New Hampshire is on the basis of the type of addiction the person is in. Depending on what kind of dependency it is, the person may be put into a cocaine drug rehab, marijuana drug rehab, methamphetamine drug rehab or a heroin drug rehab in New Hampshire. Each of these centers will have a specific kind of program depending on the kind of addiction for which the treatment is sought.
Most people quite erroneously think that all kinds of drugs are the same. This is definitely not the case. Each and every drug has a specific action on the body, which depends on the chemical class they belong to. For example, heroin is an opioid and methamphetamine is an amphetamine drug. These two react in totally different ways on the body. Opioids are much more devastating to the body in the long run, while the amphetamines are known for their short term effects of producing the very extreme sensation of euphoria. Due to these reasons, it becomes very important to chalk out different treatment methods for them.
This is an important point for you to remember too. When you are scouting for a drug rehab in New Hampshire, make sure that it is licensed for the kind of addiction you need treatment for. As a simple example, if you are looking for heroin addiction treatment, it is vitally important that the treatment center must have qualification to dispense heroin addiction treatment. Even the treatment providers must be well-versed with heroin addiction treatment and must have credentials for the same.
Rehab Programs based on Age of Patients
You will find a lot of rehab treatment programs in New Hampshire that are dependent on the age of the patient that is entering treatment there. There are treatment centers that are targeted for adolescents and teenagers and for people who have crossed 65 years of age. These juvenile and senior drug rehabs in the state will have diametrically different approaches towards the treatment.
For example, the juvenile addiction treatment will be more focused on explaining the young patients what an addiction is all about, what repercussions it can have and how it can be completely removed from the body and the mind if they were of make some bit of an effort. However, in the senior drug rehab in New Hampshire, the patient are more focused on the detox program, which becomes quite important as the patient may have been with the addiction for a long number of years which would definitely have caused a heavy accumulation of the toxic substances within the body of the person.
In addition, there are rehab programs for other sections of people such as the working people, women who are either pregnant or are lactating, etc. These special programs help to address special situations of the people. The programs that are for the working people, for example, will try not to isolate the patient into the treatment center. Something like the day treatment program would be implemented in which the person has to visit the treatment center for a few hours each day and seek treatment, while the rest of the day would be free for the person to follow other pursuits of life.
Programs that are designed for the pregnant and lactating mothers also follow specific patterns. These people would require a different medicinal approach too, such as they would not be suitable with a methadone treatment in case of a heroin addiction because that could harm the fetus.
There are several other kinds of special drug rehab in New Hampshire that depend on the ethnicity of the person, rare health conditions, mental sicknesses, etc. Each of these special rehabs makes it a point to answer the addiction with a different perspective, which is more suited to the kind of person who is checking in for treatment at the particular center. It is wise to look for such focused options and consider them for addiction treatment if you need one.

The problem of addiction to drugs is a major problem these days. In fact the term drug addiction does not only concerned with the problem of addiction to the illegal drugs only. The fact is that it is a broader concept which includes all sorts of addiction problems including addiction to prescription drugs and alcohol addiction. In fact the problem is that the addiction to drugs is such a problem to the modern society that not only causes harm to the physical health of the individual but also can cause a lot of harm to the mental and psychological state of the individual. Not only that but this problem in a person can also effect the lives of the people close to him and to the society as a whole.

Even the rate of alcohol abuse cases has also increased to a great extent these days. And to find the proper cure for that the only answer is the alcohol abuse treatment center. In fact to find the proper alcohol abuse treatment for the patient it is essential to make the choice of the rehab center very carefully. It should always be kept in mind that if there is any mistake in choosing the proper rehab center for the patient the results may be devastating. In fact the point is that there are instances of several cases where the wrong choice of rehab center has caused failure in treatment, resulting in the patient to suffer from depression. And the fact is that as a result of that there are several cases where the patient has even committed suicide unable to bear the load. Therefore it is very much necessary to choose the rehab center very carefully so that the patient may receive the proper treatment with lesser chances of failure.

For the proper choice of the drug abuse centers it is essential to note the treatment programs offered by them. In fact it is always better if you get some recommendation from a doctor as he can suggest you a better choice of the rehab center according to the need of the patient. Besides that it is essential to note whether the rehab center you choose offers psychological treatment along with physical drug detox. This is a very essential thing as the problem of drug or alcohol addiction is not just a physical problem. It has a deep connection to the psychology of the person as well. Therefore it is essential to provide proper psychological treatment to the patient along with the physical drug detox. This is in fact the best thing to do. When the patient is cleared of his addiction problem if he is provided proper psychological treatment as well it is obvious that there are lesser chances for him to return back to his addiction.

Besides that there are some addiction treatment centers that offers luxury treatment to the patients. This includes several luxury facilities that helps a lot to the patients to heal faster. Thus the choice of a luxury rehab center is a better guarantee for a better treatment.
