Are There Pharmaceuticals in our Water Supply?

 

When it comes to our drinking water, there is so much conflicting information going around that it is difficult to know what to believe or not. We hear people say that could be pharmaceuticals in our water supply.

There seems to be something negative about our water supply in the news all the time. This is why so many people are turning to home water purifications systems to ensure that their family is getting the safest drinking water possible.

One of the more popular water treatment systems is reverse osmosis. However, does reverse osmosis remove pharmaceuticals from water? The answer is not likely. This form of water purification removes minerals from water but it does not remove all the chemicals that are found in the water. Therefore, this is not the best system to choose for your home.

Then what is the best system to use at home? The best system is one that removes the chemicals and bacteria but leaves the minerals in the water. A carbon based filtration system is the one type of purification system that does remove the chemicals and other contaminants.

There was a story in the Associated Press fairly recently that stated some researchers had found that up to forty-one million residents of the United States had some trace amounts of pharmaceuticals in the water supply. This is extremely alarming. Is our drinking water safe?

Based on that research, I would expect that many people are looking at some form of water purification system for their family. Safe, clean drinking water is one of the most important parts of a healthy diet. This is why we need a water filtration system installed in our home.

Other tests done on the drinking water in the United States has found over eighty different compounds from pharmaceuticals in the water supply. These drugs include painkillers, birth control pills, caffeine, steroids, blood pressure medication, antibiotics and many other different drugs.

Thus, what is stopping you from protecting your family from pharmaceuticals in our water supply? It is time to get a home water purification system and protect your family from the drugs, chemicals and bacteria found in most drinking water.
